If your kids are grown and your home suddenly feels… well, a little too spacious, you’re not alone. Many couples in the Bay Area find themselves ready for a new kind of home — one that fits their lifestyle now, not the life they had 20 years ago.
Come the weekend, one of my favorite things to do is pack up my rolling shopping cart and spend Sunday morning at the award-winning Mountain View Farmers Market. Voted Top 5 in the Nation by American Farmland Trust’s Favorite Farmers’ Market Contest, this market runs year-round with 80+ farmers and food purveyors every Sunday from 9 am-1 pm at the Caltrain Station (NOTE: do check the Market website during 49’ers Season, as the market moves location during home games). Parking can be tricky, so I recommend arriving early and looking for spots around Villa Street.
As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, many of us find ourselves spending more time at home. Fall is the perfect season to make small, meaningful updates that bring warmth, comfort, and a fresh look to your space. The good news? You don’t need a full remodel to fall back in love with your home. A few simple, budget-friendly tweaks can completely change the way your space feels. Here are some easy ideas to try:
