Whenever Rick and I are preparing a home for the market, we spend quite a bit of time and focus on making sure the bedrooms in a home reflect a beautiful and cozy space. Today’s article, How to Make a Beautiful Bed includes designer tips beginning with linen selection, pillows, and shams to photos of six luxurious beds from homes that we have recently staged and sold. Beautiful bedrooms shouldn’t be reserved for marketing brochures. After all, we spend a third of our lives sleeping, our bedroom should be a luxurious place to rest and enjoy.
This week’s list of Bay Area Events includes 4 lively foodie events with one taking place right here in Mountain View. The 48th Mountain View Art & Wine Festival will take place September 7-8 on Castro Street in downtown Mountain View. An authentic and moveable feast for the senses, this year’s festival will feature 500 professional artists and craft makers. Other fun weekend events include Pub in the Park, Avacado Con, and Eat Like An Italian in Palo Alto.
Over the past few years there has been a lot of buzz about Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga), but really, what is it? After researching the topic, I’ve come to realize that Hygee is not just a word, but an esoteric feeling of coziness, lifestyle or even frame of mind. Hygee is not a product or service that one can simply buy from a store, so coming to terms with its relevance and application is going to take a little work.
With a new season, comes a natural inclination to change things around the household. And as a real estate agent, I am often asked for guidance that transcends a real estate transaction, including how to better organize one’s wardrobe space. Prepping your closet for a new season takes a few hours of your time but is worth every minute invested. So before you rush out and shop for new pieces to elevate your wardrobe, consider paying your closet a visit.
Come the weekend, one of my favorite things to do is to pack up my rolling shopping cart and spend Sunday morning with my 15 year old daughter at the award winning Mountain View Farmers’ Market. Voted Top 5 in the Nation by American Farmland Trusts’ Favorite Farmers’ Market Contest, the Mountain View Farmers’ Market runs year-round and showcases over 80 farmers and food purveyors every Sunday, 9am to 1pm. The market is located at the Caltrain Station where parking can be a challenge, so my recommendation is to arrive early, and park in the residential areas. I usually have luck parking with on, or in and around Villa Street.
Summer is a time to enjoy life outside, which includes where we dine. Be it an outdoor dinner party or simply a farm-to table meal with family, part of the fun is deciding how you want to style your table. And whether you choose to keep it light or go more elaborate, there are easy ways to make you vision come to life for you and your guests. Today I rounded up a 5 Tablescapes that are simple yet elegant, and can be recreated in a few easy steps.
